Can You Resize a Stainless Steel Ring?

In most cases, no – stainless steel rings cannot be resized by a traditional jewelry bench. The metal is too hard and heat-resistant for a standard jeweler's torch, and cutting and soldering the band is not feasible without specialized industrial equipment. Most jewelers will turn stainless steel resize requests away entirely.

Because we manufacture stainless steel jewelry in-house, we have the industrial equipment and technical capability to resize stainless steel rings – something the vast majority of jewelers cannot offer. This is not a workaround or approximation; it is a true resize of the band to your target size.

Due to the manufacturing process involved, stainless steel resizing takes longer than a standard ring resize. Expect a turnaround of up to 10 to 15 business days. The result is a cleanly resized ring with no visible seam, finished to match the original surface of the band.
