Overhaul Service For Mechanical and Quartz Watches

What’s included in an overhaul?

  • Full internal inspection and cleaning of the watch movement.
  • Replacement of worn or damaged parts (if needed) to ensure proper functionality.
  • Lubrication and adjustment of the movement to factory standards where possible.
  • Testing and fine-tuning of timekeeping accuracy.

Important to note:

  • An “overhaul” addresses the internal mechanisms only.
  • External cleaning or polishing of the watch case, band, or crystal is not automatically included in this service.
  • If you’d like to add an exterior cleaning or restoration (such as buffing out scratches, refinishing metal surfaces, etc.), please add those services separately or reach out to our team for assistance.

Why Overhauls Are Essential

Mechanical watches require periodic overhauls to keep them running smoothly—just like a car requires routine maintenance. If your watch is losing time, stopping frequently, or shows signs of wear on internal parts, an overhaul is the best way to bring it back to optimal condition.

  1. Describe the watch problem

Tell us how the watch is behaving and provide the brand, movement type if known, and clear photos.

  2. Movement inspection

After arrival, a watchmaker examines the internal movement and identifies worn, damaged, or contaminated components.

  3. Approve anything additional

If the watch needs parts or work outside the selected service, we contact you before proceeding.

  4. Service and regulate

The movement is cleaned, lubricated, adjusted, and reassembled with approved replacement parts as needed.

  5. Test and return

Timekeeping and function are tested before the watch is documented and prepared for tracked return shipping.

How do I know whether my watch needs an overhaul?

Frequent stopping, poor timekeeping, difficult setting, or internal moisture can indicate a movement problem. An overhaul is for the internal movement; a battery or crystal-only issue may need a different service.

What is included in the overhaul?

The service includes movement inspection and cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, timekeeping tests, and replacement of worn or damaged internal parts when included or approved.

Does an overhaul include polishing the case or band?

No. Exterior cleaning, polishing, crystal work, and band restoration are separate services unless specifically added to the order.

Do you service smart watches?

No. This overhaul service is for eligible mechanical and quartz watches, not smart watches.
