Before you send it
How do you work out my offer?
We scan each piece with our XRF machine to confirm the metal, weigh the gold and price it at that day’s gold price. Your offer is itemized piece by piece and holds for 48 hours.
Can I get an estimate before I ship?
Yes. Send photos, any karat stamps and the gram weight, and we’ll reply with an estimate. Without the weight we can’t estimate, but you’re welcome to send your pieces in for evaluation.
What if I don’t like the offer?
Just say no. We’ll ship your pieces back by FedEx 2-Day for $15. Nothing is melted unless you accept.
How do I get paid?
By check, mailed to your address once you accept your offer.
What about stones and pearls?
We pay for the gold only. To get the true gold weight we take stones and pearls out, and they can’t be reset or sent back, even if you decline the offer. Remove anything you want to keep before you ship.
Is the free label insured?
The free FedEx label is tracked but doesn’t include insurance. If you’d rather ship with your own insured label, tell us and we’ll set that up.
Can you turn my old gold into a new piece?
We don’t melt customer gold into new jewelry. You can sell it to us and have our custom team design a new piece in fresh gold.
Can I drop it off in Long Island City?
Yes, by appointment. Drop it off through our metal testing service and we’ll follow up with your results and an offer. It isn’t a wait-while-you-test visit.
Who can sell to you?
You must be 18 or older and the owner of the pieces. We’ll need your full name and address for our records.
Why does the price change?
Gold trades every day. Your offer uses the price on the day we test and stays locked for 48 hours.
